Click on "What's new" on EE site and you'll finally see what a lot of us have been waiting. The Convert Full length zipper sleeping bag that can also be used as a quilt. Ok, so I've known this was coming out for a good while now, but I'm still glad that I'm the first to bring the news to you. There's plenty of other new gear as well. That Minion looks pretty nifty. BTW-I don't work for EE, I was just on Facebook when he posted it.

Disclaimer: I work for EE. Thanks for the mention Aaron. Just as a heads up for anyone else seeing this, the Convert will be available in a bunch more sizes soon (Xshort, Short, and Xlong lengths, plus a Wider width), but getting the templates and correct zipper sizes for those has taken longer than anticipated. I'm curious what folks on here will think of the Minion. It's really an odd product, because it's not necessarily the best at anything, but in my prototype uses I was surprised at how many little tasks I could put it to work in, especially on winter trips. It's not terribly stylish though (that's me you see wearing it as a balaclava on the website).
It looks like the Feathered Friends Flicker but with the additional custom sizing options, this looks like a winner. (still prefer a quilt, however) ;)
Prefer a quilt…, yes, but a 28 ounce 10* sleeping bag would also make for one pretty sweet winter bag.
All this innovation begs the question … "Does Tim ever sleep?" I'll stick with using real quilts … but I suppose I must confess that I was a committed quilt doubter at one time and using a too snug sleeping bag like a quilt was my gateway experience. Welcome to the Cult of the Quilt, baggers (he-he)
"Prefer a quilt…, yes, but a 28 ounce 10* sleeping bag would also make for one pretty sweet winter bag." Indeed. If you only could have one for all seasons, that might just be it….
Has anyone had experience using a Convert in cold temps, say below 10F?
