Any women who are, um, normally endowed up top have any recommendations for a good running hydration vest? Is the Jenny collection from UD any good? I never really had any luck with fit several years ago when I was running long distances, but now that I'm back to running again I really need a hydration system. Especially here in Austin. YIKES it's hot here! Thoughts???

I'm not a woman but – if you are one of the poor souls that is on Facebook, there is a trail/ultra running group there that is very active. The same shoes, or packs, or hydration system questions get asked over and over again – and everybody just answers and helps like it is the very first time it has come up (which can be a good thing). If you search or ask there, I'm sure you'll get tons of replies. From what I read the UD Jenny vests fit nice, but you have to like bladders since the front bottles are very small. Hope you find what you're looking for. https://www.facebook.com/groups/TrailAndUltraRunning/
Jenifer- also check out either the MH Fluid Race Vest or the Fluid Vest-Pack- they come in S/M and M/L- they are light, carry well and nicely laid out- my wife has one and now my daughter wants one after running in her Mom's can't comment on the UD Jenny, but I own several UD bits and pieces and all are well made Mike
thanks guys…I may just end up trying (and failing) a few times. It seems like I see many women wearing them now, so hopefully some manufacturers have dialed into the fact that some of us actually have boobs.
I've always been keenly aware of that fact, funny manufacturers wouldn't be :) I see SunnySports has the MH RaceVests on sale for $49, guessing if it didn't work out you could recoup most of that on the Gear Trade forum
Jennifer, My wife recently got the UD ultravesta to replace an older Nathan pack. She likes it, and says it is a big improvement, but has only used it a couple of times so far. She's kind of picky about her gear, so to me that says a lot. She is 5'4 with a pretty average build. Pros: very comfortable, soft materials, fits well, well made, lots of pockets, good size for most uses. Lower front pockets will hold a larger smartphone (Galaxy S4 fits in both, although it does stick out the top a bit on the one that is top-loading. Cons: the bottles it comes with are small (10 oz) and leak. The front bottle pockets are too small to hold the UD 17 oz soft flasks (maybe others would fit?). So it seems if you use a bladder it is great, but if you want to have your water in the front you may want to look at other options. I have a couple of the men's UD vests and they do hold water bottles/soft flasks in the front well. I prefer soft flasks in front as the bottles cause painful pressure on the ribcage after a while, and the water sloshes around too much. I find that carrying the water in front works well if I have a some clothing/gear etc in the back to balance the weight (ie longer runs, mountain/adventure runs, etc). For shorter runs where I'm not carrying much clothing/gear etc, I prefer to use a bladder for water and keep my phone, food, etc in the front pockets which balances the weight nicely and provides easy access to everything. Occasionally I'll use both a bladder and soft bottles but this is rare. There are some good reviews on the UD page here, not sure if you checked these yet but they seem pretty accurate: http://www.ultimatedirection.com/p-612-ultra-vesta.aspx?category=hydration-packs
