How many cubic inches of down do you have Eric? ;-)

Not enough down! On a serious note, sadly, I do get cold easily. As I approach 50, I find that my 3 year old MHW Kelvinator no longer keeps me warm at 40ish F temp weather conditions. And I've learned from this forum that for me, since I'll be trekking/hill walking/mountain hiking mostly, I should not wear down when on the move but instead go with Primaloft. So I've got my Rab Xenon Pullovers for going under my hardshells as needed and will keep the down for the dry and cold environments (or at least when I know that any chance of precipitation is next to zero) for when I get cold–keep a variety of different weight down jackets to meet any requirement for 50s on down to sub zero. But will only wear my down when I'm around town or at my "base camp" (ie, at the huts when I finally reach them). I love down I am happy to say. Eric PS: Does anybody know, I know Primaloft came out with their Gold/Silver/Bronze lines to compleiment Primaloft One. From what I read on their site or online, the "new" Gold series is a synthetic/hydrodown combination. Is that true?

Thanks Ken for the link. So another "Mountain Equipment" exists, and Brit at that. Who'd a thunk it. Never hurts to bookmark another supplier. ;o)

Gold in itself is just the new name for One, but as Gold is also a category there are many variations within it including a down/synthetic blend.

Thanks for the explanation. I'd like to try some of the "new" Gold that is the blend one day. Eric

Yep, I'm an XL. The Vega in Large seemed to fit okay, slightly slim through the body and tight in the underarms. Just got the XL today and fits just a tad bit looser overall than my MHW Nilas and I love it. Not sloppy and room to layer or wear it as is. Thanks for the advice. Eric

Just got my ME Annapurna in Cobalt, size XL, delivered to me at work this morning. Although I had to pay customs fees, it was still what I would consider a good price, all things being considered. Here I am in the Annapurna:Mountain Equipment Annapurna Jacket Eric

Believe it or not, the cost turned out to be approximately the same. Other than that, getting it from Gaynor's in the UK I was able to get this seasons color (they have an Orange one for 169.99 GB pounds which is a pretty good price too), but I already have an Absolute Zero Down Parka in the State Orange, so it'd be kind of redundant. And color from Moosejaw on the Annapurna is Red, another color I already have in my heavy parka section of my closet. I did manage to order an ME jacket not available to the US market, the Kongur jacket in the MRT model, which is used by the UK rescue teams and is GTX Pro all the way around in 80D fabric and features 3M reflective material too, which I think will be handy for alpine trekking in not so great weather conditions.
