Can anyone tell me if Patagonia merino baselayers are itchy/scratchy? I find Icebreaker does irritate my skin a bit when I warm up from exertion. Looking for an alternative that also doesn't smell too bad after a few days wearing…Maybe Patagonia Capaline instead?
Patagonia merino (actually a merino/polyester blend) is not itchy to me, but then Icebreaker hasn't been either.
Itch is a function of the "fineness" of the wool and YOUR skin.
I don't tolerate anyone's superfine merino wool. But that's me.
If you react to Icebreaker you will most likely react to Patagonia – of the same caliber. If the Icebreaker was a larger caliber than the Patagonia option, you may do OK.
Buy it, try it, flip it.
