Figured I'd give an update, the rental car I had to ditch at road's end finally got picked up after a month of being stranded there. The tow truck driver told me it took him a total of 16 hours from fresno. The park told him that they will no longer be escorting anyone in and won't open up again at all this season. What a nightmare this has been. He said driving through there was emotional, he saw a small cub wandering around on it's own, the lodge burned down and the whole area is just blackened burned landscape.
