Got my package from BPL today-NEW GEAR!

Looking at the photo, I think I like the cap keeper. But for me anyway, I would snip off the shock cord. :)

I like the shock cord; especially if you're carrying some extra empty bladders for camp, pee bottles, etc. It just makes them pack really easily and compactly. I hate when you roll up your Platy and it unrolls when things shift around a bit. The negligable weight is justified for the convenience for me. But, to each their own. :)

I just slide my extra platys down the bladder sleeve of my pack, or fold them and stuff them in my food bag. I've never felt a need to roll them.

Hah! What sort of self respecting gram weenie would allow an extra piece of elastic in their pack anyway. :^p

How does the spork hold liquids? Is it deep enough? I just sold Snow Peak Titanium sporks I had from way back when because I found that liquids would just fall through the tines on the shallow spork. Was a real pain. I thought the Light My Fire Spork might be a better option because of the separate spoon. Wouldn't be a big advantage if the BPL spork you got is deep enough to hold liquids well. I'd like to pick up either one, so very interested in your thoughts.

Another question, but do you know if it fits in the bottom of a MSR Ti Kettle?
I've been looking for a spoon to put in there with my fire sparker to make a compact package and it would be much preferable to have a full sized spoon rather then a cut down lexan one.

I love the spork. We purchased the kits for the six of us for car camping, scouting and now this spork is the only one we use on the trail.

I eat lots of soup on the trail and have found it adequate. Though if weight was never a factor I would still carry the rounder Lexan Soup Spoon which I keep in our kitchen now for any of our less formal meal times.

I also have the Snow Peak spork and just did a quick test (with water). The cut of the tines on the BPL one isn't as deep as the SP so it holds liquid better. Also, the bowl seems slightly deeper so that helps too. Overall, I like the BPL one much better. Hope that helps.

If you're talking about the Titan Kettle, then yes, it will easily fit inside with more than enough room to spare.
