So this weekend my wife and I headed up to the smokies for an overnight. they called for it to be around 20*. I thought ahead and brought what I thought would be enough to keep me warm but not over do it.

we stayed at 3400ft
we used a double rainbow TT.

My personal sleep setup went as follows in order from outside in.

Golite Feather 20* bag
TNF Prism Optimus down jacket around my feed and legs
Turtle fur beanie on my head
Upper body from outside in
Midweight Synthetic layer
TNF Diad
Liteweight layer(underarmor)

Lower body from outside in
Waterproof breathable pants by quest
Patagonia Capalene midweight
Dry wool blend socks.

My problem was not cold but sweat. I woke up VERY HOT and was so wet and damp it made my night more uncomfortable. I looked at my little Thermometer in the Tent vestibule and it said 18* I usually don't sleep hot, did I do something wrong with the vapor barrier concept? OR did everything do it's job and I just went overkill? Any info would help. I like being warm, but That was HOT and I ended up unzipping for a few mins to help regulate.

Thanks

Tommy
