McNett Seam Grip lasts a few months at room temperature before the tube dries up and becomes useless. The solvent is very volatile.

When I was working, they froze adhesives to make them last longer. Let it warm up a few hours before using. Seems to work with McNett Seam Grip. I've had this tube for about a year now.

They mention freezing on the label.

Thanks for mentioning that, Jerry.

Did not know that.

(Now I feel guilty about all the tubes of seam sealer I've dried out over the years.)

sigh…

I have a tube that is about 4 years old in the freezer. I still use it a few times a year. Works great. Takes a few minutes for it to warm up enough to remove the cap though.

I just noticed where a rodent(?) chewed on my down sleeping bag. A bit of down leaked out. Got my McNett out of freezer and let it warm up for 30 minutes. Put a couple dabs on the small holes.

I think it says on all of the McNett adhesive tubes to store in the freezer. I know it does on the Aqua Seal and Freesole products. I just drop in hot water for a few minutes to thaw when I need some.

McNett is just a cool company. I was at a dive show about 17 years ago and the owner happened to be at the McNett display. We talked for over an hour about diving and outdoors stuff and he invited me to hang out behind the table with the rest of the McNett people there. Just a real down to earth guy.
