Do you have a everyday/weekend user tent? Trying to save wear and tear on my $400+ shelter that I'd use for vacations. Something under 2 lbs. ? Not too concerned about cost.

Just for some clarity, you aren't concerned about cost, but it shouldn't be more than $400, right?

I guess the real question is: how many 2 lb tents are really out there, that are arguably more durable than what you already have?

That was my thought, too. Aside from the fact I got a cuben groundsheet and partial solid inner to go with it, my Tarptent Notch has enough use on it that it's cost per night is <$2, and it's functionally as good as new. To me, use is what justifies cost, not lack of it.
What's wrong with the tent you have?
My Notch is well under 2lb. A new one is $285. I could suggest that, but why would anyone spend almost $300 to save a $400 tent for special occasions?

Well, maybe I don't want to spend $300. But good point, other good tents may not cost what my ZPacks Solplex did, still pricey, so maybe a stupid question.
Some clarity also, I don't use hiking poles, so the total weight needs to be under 2 lbs. I've looked at another TT, but I'd have to add in poles, so there goes the weight back up. I bp mostly in the Sierra and extreme southern Cascades, here in CA. Just me, the Solplex has a small space to sleep in and store clothes.

smd Lunar Solo? with carbon pole maybe 26 oz. plus stakes. Mine in the sack w/2 ground hogs and 4 Lawson long titanium stakes, no pole is under 27 oz. With the pole from SMD you are talking 245 plus shipping.

I bought my Contrail and Lightheart Solo used for $100-$125 each. They weigh 26 and 27oz respectively, so you'd have 5-6 oz to work with for poles.

Thank you. I'll have to go back a few weeks, seems I saw a topic about another brand.
