So having lived on the West Slope for over 20 years, I have finally decided to walk across the west half of the Weminuche. I'm taking a zig zag trail from Needle Creek to Trout Creek for a bit over a week. This is going to result in me having a car parked in Durango for catching the train for that same time frame plus a few days for the vehicle recovery. I have been told that parking for the train costs $7/day. I am just wondering if that is accurate or what the alternative to that is with out getting my car towed. I remember paying to park my car when kayaking in CA, but I'm really not use to such things here on the West Slope. Do we have any local solutions?
