Curious if anyone had any feedback on the possibility of doing the below modifications to a BD Firstlight. The material of the firstlight
1. I would like a guyline in the middle of the walls similar to what the I Tent has. I am unsure why BD did not do this from the factory; either the material cannot handle the stress, or they cheaped out. My thoughts are to encapsulate the sidewall material with a 4×3" piece of fabric on both inside and outside. I would use either double sided tape, or some sort of adhesive such as that shoe bond stuff as well as sew then seam seal it.
2. On the front of the tent, I use the two loops which are intended for rolling up the screen/front door, as guy points (not for wind, but to just pull out the fabric a little bit for more headroom- actually makes a huge difference). I would like to do the same with the rear so my bag isn't wet in the morning from touching the wall all day.
Any thoughts?
