Free time has become more important. A promotion at work and new responsibility of managing people on a daily basis makes me think about the woods just a bit more as of late. I suppose I’m at that stage of life where my career is becoming a greater centerpiece; that point at which my elders refer to as “when I was young and had all the ambition”.

Nice trip. I'm sure it gave you some time to think about something other than work. The weather is soooo fricken awesome in CO right now!

Hey Tim, being near the Gore Range…do you know anything about this route below? I've had my eye on it for some time now. Planning to park in Dillon and take the city bus to the trailhead near Copper Mtn then hike northeast back to car in Dillon. It says, 'Loop Trail' on google maps. Approximately 25 miles.

route

It goes near Lost lake, Uneva Pass, North Tenmile Creek, South Willow Creek, ect…..

Sorry to hack your thread!

No worries on the hijack Gordon. Monsoon seems to be in full swing up high right now.

Your trip plan looks great. Its been years since I've been in that specific area, but I can vouch for the aesthetics. If you're fishing, Lost Lake is a surprisingly productive little pond. Uneva, Eccles and Red Buffalo Pass are all great. If you have the time and don't mind a little scrambling, Red Peak is relatively mellow and gives great views to the rest of the Gore, Vail, and the peaks of Holy Cross Wilderness.

What an awesome trip! Very cool.

I did the corporate thing a few years back. I so enjoy not doing the corporate thing now, but I get it. Enjoy every bit of precious freedom you can get. Life's too short.

Thank you George.

Not so much corporate, just holding a supervisory position with an up-hill climb to get the department turned around, with a little bit of regulatory pressure. That's all ;) I still work to live.
