I took the liberty of editing your post so the pictures would be visible. You've done some really nice work there and I felt that it was worthy of being shown off. Congratulations on making such a great shell.

Nov 20, 2007 at 6:01 pm #1409729I have never done the MYOG thing so that looks amazing to me. How did you do the seam taping on the inside? Looks store bought, great job.
Nov 21, 2007 at 5:03 am #1409760That looks better then the jackets I see at the stores! I noticed a label on the jacket's chest. Is this a business venture? I've nevr tried to make anything with fabric, but I would think that with skills like yours, the sky is the limit!
Either way, absolutely fanastic work. What's next?Nov 21, 2007 at 7:18 am #1409773"mt. morillonit"
Is this your brand name? I see you wearing a lot of clothing with this branding on it…I also saw some pictures over on the German Outdoorseiten.net site. Incredible work!

Here are a pair of mountaineering pants I made last spring.

EricDec 1, 2007 at 10:35 am #1410920thanks for all your comments.
Some further informations:
Seam taping was made with a little iron (originally thought for covering wings of model airplanes with film) and Bemis seamtape. You have to practice a lot untill you get good results, but it´s worth the effort.
mt.morillonit is my "brand"-name. It´s not commercial yet. I sew only for me and some friends of mine.
@eric: your pants look really nice. Where have you bought your spectra for reinforcements? Is ist worth the money as reinforcement? I´d really recommend the bemis seam tape
More infos here: http://www.bemisworldwide.com/products/tape.htmlDec 1, 2007 at 9:12 pm #1410976Thanks Denis,
I get the spectra material through Rockywoods in COlorado, its cosmetic 2nds but really nice, strong material. Its not too expensive at all and I think it looks cool. Thanks for the seam tape info – I'll have to try that.
cheersDec 2, 2007 at 8:51 am #1411000David, that's beautiful work. V. impressed here. What was your source for the XCR?
