I"m looking to head out for 5 days/4nights somewhere cool. I'm considering the High Sierra Trail pending logistics/transportation/permits. I have a car so we could leave it in Lone Pine but the ride back to Sequoia is uncertain. I'm open to your own suggestions as well. I'm thinking of heading out Thursday 7/23 and returning to the Bay Area Monday the 27th or Tuesday the 28th at the latest. I live in the South Bay. I'm fine with handling the driving myself if we end up doing a loop, but otherwise will need another vehicle. Again, I'm flexible with the itinerary so any of your own ideas would be appreciated.
I've hiked the North to South Lake loop (60 miles). I've hiked Roads End to Avalanche Pass, Elizabeth Pass, Kaweah Gap, Colby Pass, back over Avalanche back to Roads End (75 miles). I've also hiked from Sonora Pass to Whitney via the PCT/JMT (275 miles)… just so you know I can hike.
I'm open to revisited areas I've been but I would like to see new area too if possible.
