Hello BPL community, I'm looking for a baseball style cap for backpacking and on the river that dries super fast. The cheap trucker cap I have now takes forever to dry. I also would like it to look somewhat normal . Any recommendations? Thanks

Nike DriFit hats. Come in several styles all of which are normal baseball hat design. I have two, one is just plain fabric, the other is the same fabric except it has holes all in it like an old school football jersey. If that makes sense.
They're really great though. The depth fits my head perfect. I wear one everyday. Dry super fast, and they aren't that expensive. Mine weigh around 1.3-1.5 oz or so. Easily washable as well.
Kurt, my go to is the mountain hard wear cap at the link below. I bought it for the ear flaps to keep my ears from cookin' in the sun. The material is light and the flaps easily tuck into the body of the hat when you want to wear it as a ball cap only. The side panels are somewhat breathable and it does dry fast. Too fast. I like to dip my hat in streams along the way on hot days for a little cooling effect but its dry minutes later.
Edit- it also works well when wearing a head net. Protects ears from bites when net lays against them.

I really like the OR Echolite caps, if you can find them. The sources have seemingly dried up (not sure if they stopped making them or they are simply sold out this season).
It's a very similar if not same material to their echo clothes line. The echolite is the short brimmed version, but there are older regular cap versions, if you can find them. I use mine for running, and I love it. Might dig up a few more in case they aren't made anymore.
Thanks Sam, I have a buddy who's a golf pro that is sponsored by Nike so I'm going to see if he can get a couple on the cheap.
TNF Horizon hat + black Sharpie = "The "O" Face!" 100% synthetic so it dries quick. Perfect old school baseball hat fit & style. Packs well too.

too bad these hats do almost nothing in terms of sun protection.
I’m real happy with this cap for all temps and all seasons.
Right on, Kurt. He would be a perfect resource for them. I golf every other weekend and always wear these hats. They make the fitted variety, but I go for the adjustable ones. They have velcro so you can get a perfect fit. I love 'em. They're just all around great for sweaty activities. You can even find some that only have the Nike check on the side band instead of the front if you don't want to have the billboard look. Have I mentioned that I really like these hats? Ha
By the way, not everyone needs serious sun protection. I understand the need for it though. Such as high altitude above tree line stuff or desert treks. If I happen across a seriously sunny stretch I hang my buff or a bandana under it as a sun curtain. When I'm golfing I just put some sunscreen on my ears and cheeks. Any other time, it's perfect by itself. Obviously one of those YMMV things.

That's what your bandana is for.
