Just joined today for the life membership option. Please don't flame me either.
My now deceased girlfriend introduced me to hiking in Chamonix when we did one of her favorite hikes when we first started getting to know one another which was hiking up to the refuge at Lac Blanc.
I want to start doing the hiking that she loved to do in both the Alps and in Europe and even here at home in the US. But since I know she loved hiking the route of the Tour du Mont Blanc and that area, I'm trying to find out if there is a consolidated list of the trails and their difficulty ratings on the Internet so I can prepare to go back there in either the Spring or next August (which is when we were there last year).
I know that when I went there my gear was woefully inadequate and have since spent a considerable amount of money acquiring appropriate clothing and gear.
Any advice and/or suggestions would be most appreciated and if there are other forums where I should look and/or post questions related to trip planning and gear tips, please let me know.
