I'm planning on a solo trip on the Timberline Trail in August, about August 3-6. I've found good info on the trail crossings, especially the Eliot Creek crossing. I'm wondering, what is the bug factor up there at that time of year? I found a recent trip report in June that stated not much, but wondered if 2 months later it would be different.
Anything else I should know? I've done the Wonderland Trail with a partner, so I feel like I have experience with the type of terrain. The fact that the creek crossings are unbridged is a little intimidating, and I hope to reach critical crossings earlier in the day to reduce water flow. I'm planning on doing the traditional start from Timberline Lodge, and hike clockwise.
