So, there was (and still is ongoing) a major fire, the Lake Fire in the San Gorgonio Wilderness in Southern California. The San Gorgonio Wilderness has some of the best hiking and backpacking in Southern California. Since the SGW is closed for the foreseeable future, I thought I’d amuse myself by compiling a list of peaks in So Cal that are 9000′ (2743 m) or higher in elevation. A lot of them as it turns out are in the fire closure area, but there are a good number that are not. If it’s helpful, have at it. If not, post your alternatives here. New ideas = good. :)
