at 130lbs soaking wet I tend to get cold easy when not moving. I am looking for a lightweight (100wt) fleece jacket. I own a 200wt that is 14oz which is too bulky and more than I will need to stay warm during summer nights.

I have been looking for the lands end thermacheck ($20) but unable to locate it as it was 8oz for a medium and I will only need a small. They also have a polartec 100 for around the same price, not sure on the weight as customer service has not gotten back to me on it yet. Any other ideas for cheap lightweight fleece? I would assume a good bet is just the local thrift stores since I don't need anything fancy but thought I would come check here. Thanks!

I have the Lands End Polartec 100wt fleece pullover and it is 8.8oz for a Mens Medium. It has a 1/4zip though.

I also have some lands end 100wt fleece gloves, beanie, and balaclava. It's great stuff for the money.

I have a Melanzana crew that is 100wt grid fleece that is 7.8oz.

If you are looking for a full zip jacket I think montbell has one.

I am very much like you. No fat and get cold easily. When ever I see people on here telling others that all they need for hiking in temps down to 30 is a thin long sleeve and windshirt, I get quite envious. I'd need to add my synchilla vest just to be comfortably cool! Patagonia synchilla fleece is really dense stuff. The vest in a small weighs 8.5 ounces. Super warm with a really high collar.

Anyway, If you have a marshals or tj maxx near you, then check in there for Columbia fleeces. I'm able to find them all over the place for super cheap. They're as simple as it gets. Just a zip neck shirt. They make several weights of course but the one I have actually feels lighter than 100 weight. Maybe 80 weight? Is that a thing? It's a medium, so it's too big for me but weighs around 6 oz. It's just right for hiking with a base layer and windshirt in the low 30s.

To sum it up, Patagonia Synchilla vest is super warm, but as heavy as a quarter zip pullover and kinda pricey for fleece. The Columbia fleeces are an awesome value and work great. Several weights to choose from. I'd go for one of those.

If you go pull-over rather than full zip, the availability will improve. Full zip 100w is much more rare.

Sears carries the Land's End stuff. It might be worth a look if there is one close. It is off-season.

Ross, Marshalls and TJ Maxx type discounters might be good too.

Eddie Bauer/First Ascent has some. See if there is an outlet store near.

Sierra Trading Post is good, also try 6pm.com.

Thrift stores here abound in such stuff, but I don't know about Texas. I'll keep an eye out for ya :) On that note, a light merino wool sweater would do the trick. I've seen really nice ones for cheap in thirft store.

In a perfect world, look for Power Stretch or Power Dry. The genuine Polartec military Power Dry tops are a great bargain– a Patagonia R1 for pennies on the dollar. Search eBay for "Gen III level 2 ECWCS"

Here's a good example, but I know nothing of the seller: http://www.ebay.com/itm/GEN-III-ECWCS-LEVEL-2-TOP-SHIRT-MID-WEIGHT-COLD-WEATHER-SS-/171836507948

Since the parent company of Marshalls and TJ Maxx bought STP, there's been a ton of good stuff moving through those stores. Lots of fleece options there, though maybe not in summer. The Target fleece is pretty good, and I picked up a spare 100w there at the end of winter sale for something like $12.
