Headed up to Alaska next month. Need a new lightweight bug jacket and I remember getting ambushed by no see ums on my trip last year. Thanks in advance for the help.

I started buying Rail Riders stuff about three years ago and this first shirt I bought, the Bone Flats shirt, has over 6,000 miles of trail, including a PCT thru last year and doesn't have one stitch missing from it. For bug protection look at their shirts and pants with "Bug Shield" it works. I have two shirts with this feature and a pair of long pants, I don't need to smear DEET on me when I have them with me. In fact when I was on the PCT in Oregon last July, I wore my head net for 20 minutes total, while most everyone else wore their nets for three straight days. The bugs just weren't interested in me.
Other things I did to make this happen was to Premetherin my beanie cap and had the Costco equivalent (80 cents) of a 5 Hour Energy every day with its large dose of vitamin B-12.
That is all it took.

You can buy permethrin to soak your clothes in. Then you can reapply for future trips. That way you don't have to buy specific bug clothing.
