Hello All,

Just at my local thrift store I ran into this jacket. It's peeling a bit where the hood folds but I don't care about that.
It's a flight series but I can't find it online. It is very light so I imagine it's a soft shell? So just some WR unless the WR layers already washed away?
Is it somewhat breathable?
Worth it $20?nf shell

thank you?

It is a very low res photo so hard to tell but there is a good chance that it is a "TNF" jacket (the logo does not look right )
However even a pretend TNF can be OK for $20

I don't know how to tell a fake, does this help?

OK, that is clear , the label looked wrong in the first shot.
I am not familiar with that particular series so I am not sure either way.
Maybe someone else can chime in.

Looks like a very old Venture Jacket. Originally waterproof breathable, but I would not pay $20 for it. If it is starting to de-laminate at the hood the rest will most likely follow quickly.

I had a similar jacket. It was de laminating and I sent it to north face for "repair"

They sent me a 75 dollar gift card.

Boom. No proof of purchase either. And I had the jacket for quite some time.

They have a decent warranty policy when it comes to de lamination of a waterproof material.

$20 is pretty high price for a real thrift store, at least near me.

what i'm saying is that TNF will replace that jacket with a merchandise card if you send it into their repairs department.

I know from personal experience with a similar jacket and the same problem.

I did that with my hyvent TNF rain shell, you could do the same with this one. Great thing about suggestions is that you can take it or leave it.

With that said.

Don't buy the jacket if it is delaminating. Every time it rains little bits of the waterproof coating will come off around that area and you'll have tiny bits of of the WP coating on your skin, along with the rain…
