I have next monday-wednesday off and I want to plan a 3 day 2 night trip somewhere in the sierras. I could use some suggestions.

I'm looking for a place:

high but not too high elevation, like 9-10.5 thousand feet (I have trouble with high elevation).

preferably no bear canisters required. i hate those things.

campfires allowed below 10,000 feet.

no crowds, no permit shenanigans, no designated campsites.

challenging off trail options.

something like 30 miles total distance.

not emigrant, i love emigrant but I've been there several times already.

Anything coming to mind?
Thanks!

Would fit the bill. Start and Echo Lake and hike north until you want to turn around. Lake Aloha, Velma Lakes, Rockbound Creek…

Or X-country out of Tuolumne Meadows—Budd Lake to Echo Lake…down Echo Canyon, back out through Cathedral Lakes…

Nice country

Try starting at Wright's Lake and go over Rockbound Pass. We did a 13 mile one way trip last summer from there to Lake Aloha that was a workout. You end up at the north shore of Lake Aloha with fewer neighbors than if you go in from Echo Lake. However, we saw a fair number of folks on the way up Rockbound Pass.
