Im looking for someone who owns both the Esbit 3-pronged titanium stove (http://www.esbit.de/en/products/67/solid-fuel-stove-st11-5-ti) and the Snow Peak 450 single walled mug. Does the mug fit securely on the top of the stove? I have the stove but am not sure the mug will sit securely. I'm thinking about getting the 450 single wall as my solo cookpot. Pictures appreciated!

thanks,
keegan

Yes it will, but securely, no. The 450 ml mug has a diameter of about 8.6 cm. A 9.5 cm diameter pot-mug (BPL Firelite 550) is a much better fit, personally I would look for a pot that is at least 9 cm.

Keegan,

While these photos aren't the best, my MLD 475 mug with a diameter of ~8cm fits on the esbit stove and is stable with with water.

550 ml Toaks

This is a Toaks 550 that's 9.5 cm

Toaks 375 ml

This a Toaks 375 that's 8 cm.

They both fit fine and are stable enough to boil water. Honestly, I don't see the point in going smaller than 550 ml for your boiling pot. No offense, it's just you don't really save any weight or much space. I have the 375 ml for a coffee cup that I could use to heat up water seperately or if I'm going no cook but still want coffee. Which I guess kind of makes me a hypocrite.

Anyway, the Toaks are cheap and well made. The 550 sans lid is actually lighter than the 375. Weird huh?

awesome, thanks peeps! yeah, it looks like the TOAKS 650mml at 2.8 oz is even lighter than the 550ml at 3.0 oz. But I already have a Titan Kettle 850ml at 4.2 oz, so I'm looking for something that packs smaller in my pack and is super light.

I like the idea of having a cup and think 450ml will be enough to hydrate a meal, and then heat up again for a drink while the meal is hydrating. Also, honestly, the colored SnowPeak cups are just super cool. I know, lame. But I like em.

Your reasoning sounds logical to me. There's definitely a few people on here who use 450s in there SUL kits so they definitely work.

Oh, and those SnowPeaks do look really cool. Lol
