I took a brief trip to Yosemite last weekend, and wrote a not-so-brief TR about it.

I started to massage it into the BPL forums, but it was going to be a mess–I have lots of italics and footnotes and embedded gear lists and things. I realized it would probably take me longer to get it into BPL than it took me to hike it–if that’s not a metric for whether or not to post a TR, it probably should be.

So, I’m taking the easy way out–posting it as a pdf.

Enjoy!

I really enjoyed that, thanks for posting. Totally dug your food choices.

Nice writeup Adam – a very interesting read.

But Pringles?!?! (Not my favorite food :-)).

What an excellent trip report. I really dig your writing style; it puts me in the moment with you.

I am actually heading out from the same trailhead on Friday to do the Buena Vista Lake loop. I'm taking two new backpackers, so this trip report was really helpful for some general information. Looks like beautiful country.

Lindt truffles, that's a great idea. My current favorite is Lu shortbread and chocolate cookies and those Trader Joes sea salt and dark chocolate covered almonds. Mmmm.

Thanks all!

You called them "food"–that's more credit than I often get…

Ian, hope you guys have a great trip! I didn't mention it in the TR, but there are established campsites at both the second and third Chilnualna Creek crossings–probably the first, too. Bring some rain gear–there's a low pressure system coming in. Enjoy the isolation you'll have beyond Chilnualna Falls–it's a completely different Yosemite down there.

Well, the first time to test things is never in the field, so I'll give those a dry-run on the couch…perhaps as early as tomorrow.
