With the recent rains/snows, what are your thoughts about NOT bring a bug innernet for my duomid on the CT? leaving June 28, planning about 35 ish days.

I HATE mosquitos and they LOVE me, but I'd MUCH prefer to NOT bring it if I don't have to….

I'm the same as you. They'll pick me out of a group every time. And it looks like they will probably be bad this year. But I use an SL3 and don't even have an inner and don't have a problem. If they get inside they usually will fly up to the vent. I'd think your Duomid would be the same. Of course, site selection helps a LOT. I was on segment 6 last August and they were thick around Jefferson Creek and I asked people camped there if the fire was keeping them at bay and they said sort of. I continued on maybe a half mile and climbed up a hill that looked promising. Found a nice spot with a breeze. And no mosquitoes.

Don't camp near still water below trees (Harvard Lake comes to mind). Before Kenosha Pass they may be noticeable…but not too bad.

After that, esp at night, think it will be OK.

Something like the Flat Tops Wilderness or Grand Mesa (which DOES have a lot of standing water below treeline) will be another ball o' wax…
