All – please post some of your favorite day AND night pictures of the Zpacks Duplex. I'm a photographer and deciding on a tent that does the job and also looks great in photos. :)
May 28, 2015 at 2:28 am #2202775This was from a 5 day ski traverse in march. Its only my second trip using it, but hopefully many more to come. There are more photogenic tents, esp if you wanna put your tent in a night exposure etc, but I'm very happy with the function so far.
May 28, 2015 at 4:36 am #2202777May 28, 2015 at 4:43 am #2202779The Duplex is without doubt the least photogenic tent I've ever owned.
But its combination of weight and functionality render that a moot point when you're sleeping through a violent thunderstorm in a 20oz shelter.

Jun 1, 2015 at 1:39 pm #2203855Here is one I took for my article/review of the Duplex.
Jun 1, 2015 at 2:37 pm #2203869Beautiful pic, nice job on the exposure too (many pics in this thread are overly dark).
Jul 9, 2015 at 1:02 pm #2213480Any other Duplex photographers out there?
Jul 9, 2015 at 1:20 pm #2213488After my previous early Spring, less-than-idyllic, dripping-with-drabness contribution, I suppose I should post a photo that looks a little more inviting.
High summer with the doors rolled up in bug net mode… most memorable because it was the best night's sleep I've had in years.
Jul 9, 2015 at 1:22 pm #2213490What was the secret to such great sleep, Bob? Special pillow? Pad? Place?
Jul 9, 2015 at 1:30 pm #2213492I think kenneth takes the cake

It was a combination of low humidity, perfect temperature (~65°F at night), a light breeze and a late start. Didn't get on the trail until about 3pm and did 8 miles rather quickly. Also, the day before, my wife and I had hosted a big party for which we had been preparing for some time, and although I enjoy parties and entertaining guests I also enjoy it when they are over — good time for a quick solo trip!
Jul 9, 2015 at 1:42 pm #2213501Is being photogenic an important UL characteristic these days? I had no idea. :)
Anyway here are a couple of pics…

Apr 1, 2016 at 8:11 am #3393233Thinking about getting this as well but in the camo, looks like John’s is camo but would love to see a “wheres waldo?” type image to see how well it blends/compliments forested areas
May 25, 2016 at 5:33 pm #3404699I vote for Jacob D’s second pic. Really nice.
May 25, 2016 at 6:03 pm #3404714I love Jacob D’s pics too.
So, I’m not the only person who felt compelled to consider “photo-worthiness” in the equation… I wanted something with curves and color, but it seems like all the ultralight manufacturers (save Lightheart) only make things in dun colors to avoid turning off any portion of their already small customer base… and most dome tents aren’t so light. (My eventual choice of the Fly Creek was a bit of a compromise.)
All the cuben tents look like spaceships to me, and the duplex is no exception. I do envy the weight savings though.
Jun 24, 2016 at 6:04 pm #3410606Just trying to improve on previous photos!
Jun 24, 2016 at 11:07 pm #3410648Wow excellent photos in this thread!
In this one you can see me sitting up in the Duplex watching the sunrise.
