Buzz put up a trip report on our Canyonlands "Triple Trek", which covered all 3 Districts of the Park: Island in the Sky, the Maze and the Needles. You could include the "River District" (there are river specific rangers) and call it 4. 3 days, 100 miles, 3 river crossings, many gems of the Park. Next time we'll bring pack rafts!

Nice report Buzz and Peter. In my book, that is a much better bike route.
Bikes are not allowed on foot trails in the National Park. In fact one guide told us that you aren't allowed to carry a wheel of any kind on a foot trail – it is forbidden to carry your bike. So, our route would be quite illegal. Note that we talked to NPS Rangers on 4 occasions and in each District. Also, a bike would be impractical since you'd have to carry it down Wilhite or ride all the way around the White Rim Road, then carry it down a cliff to Queen Anne Bottom, then down another cliff to get into the Maze, then carry it for several miles through the Maze & up to Chimney Rock, then carry it down to the river at Spanish Bottom and up the other side until you got to the Elephant Hill jeep road, then you'd carry again all the way down Horsethief Canyon (too sandy to ride and no trail of any kind), and finally once above the White Rim you'd carry up Lathrop, unless you rode over to the Shafer Trail. Even if this were legal I bet a hiker with no bike is faster!
Part 2 is up.
