Hi all — Looking for a somewhat specific trip recommendation for this weekend, and it's probably a long shot, but hey, excuse for a thread. Here's an unrelated pretty picture for inspiration:
I'll be heading out from Seattle on Friday afternoon. My wife will be along, her first hike this year, and she's requested no more than 5 miles and "a couple" thousand feet of elevation gain. I don't want to scare her off of trusting my trip planning for the rest of year.
Given the likelihood of the most popular trails being fairly busy this weekend, I've been scouring topo maps of the Cascades looking for a less-visited lake, up to +2.5K and 5 miles from the trailhead, that has trout, and if a fisherman's trail, is unlikely to require bushwacking or scrambling that requires root/rock handholds.
Like I said, shot in the dark. :) Any tips much appreciated, and I hope you all have something fun planned for the long weekend.
