I recently bought a Gossamer Gear Mariposa pack. A short time later I took a look at an email they sent me (I requested such emails) that included a description of this pack. I noted that the description indicated that a whistle should be on the sternum strap but mine didn't have this.
I wrote to them asking if this was normal for my pack and Jonathan responded that it was not and that he would send me the missing whistle AND a new strap in case something were to happen to it.
As it turns out, my strap had the right buckle but the whistle was not attached to it. Jonathan's new whistle simply slid onto my buckle and I did not need the new strap he sent.
Clearly Jonathan was concerned that I would be happy and went way out of his way to ensure this.
