I'll be in Sedona the last week of May –

Suggestions for tenkara (for trout) within 1 to 2 hours?

Or should I just take the bike?

    Thanks.

Sedona is awesome for biking, not so much for fishing. There's a bike shop there that can point you to some beautiful rides.

    Oak Creek?

Or is it just to hot?

Any idea what the water temperatures are?

Oak Creek is not really much of a fishing creek. I'd call the local Rangers and ask, since we've not had a lot of water in the last few years, BUT we did just get snow in Flagstaff on the peaks. So while the creeks might be running well, I'm not sure how the fish population is and yes the water temps will be cold from snowmelt.

Tenkara works well in small streams.

But there must be water, and it needs to be under 70F, preferably 65F, otherwise its hard on the fish.

I'm intrigued by West Oak Creek. Even though it will be over run for the first few miles, hiking up 5 should get the job done.

    Thanks.
