Well after a bit of a diaster on the last container,
I upgraded to an industrial end pipe,
using EPDM Rubber Sheet 3mm (which is awesome) from eBay

and now it works amazing, fine control over the pressure, can lock it off at any point, reduce or increase at any point. Using a garden sprayer for pressure that also includes a release valve :)

This was just a quick test, and another day I will start to test all my fabric in a common way :)

This was silnylon 3,500 HH and I tested it until it failed completely at 5,506 HH with fine jets coming through where it failed :) just for fun.

Looks good to me.
That's the thing about pressure-testing fabrics: you tend to get a bit damp …

Interesting that you got micro-jets almost before you got small leaks. But the measured HH looks better than some of the stuff around. Details?

Cheers

yep its an outdoor sport for sure :)

I had the three bubbles,
then pushed if further,
removed the bubbles with a tissue, and then the jets appeared,
maybe the surface tension of the bubble held the jets back ?

those winter nights will fly by :)

Hey Gary,

Can we send you in some fabric pieces to be tested?

I would hate for you to have to buy a bunch and spend an unnecessary amount of money for what many of us have multiple of laying around.

Nice job!

i have loads of fabric waiting to be tested,
But if you want any tested no problem, I am in the UK

As its home made i cant guarantee the accuracy
But it seems to be pretty accurate with known fabric matching to spec.

The testing needs x3 15cm square pieces of new fabric
Then I can do abrasion and folding tests as well.

I know the other chap on here can give you formal testing.

:)

Gary,

I believe you have just raised the bar for myog projects.

You've given me the confidence to resume work on my myog time machine.
