The more I looked into it, I became aware of my own under appreciation for the area and discovered the underrated potential of the Black Ridge Canyons Wilderness. The stats are certainly there: 75,580 total acres (it makes up part of the 122,300 acres in McInnis Canyons National Conservation Area), seven major east-west canyon systems which eventually dump to the Colorado River, spires, windows, an area which contains the second largest concentration of arches in the world, non-confirmed β but perhaps one of the largest alcoves on the entire Colorado Plateau, water and the abundant life that flourishes with itβ¦
