Hello,
I started this year using quilts, and I really loved them. My EE quilt is for winter, rated 20. and I will be hiking this summer. I tried to purchase another one from EE, but it turns our that I need to wait for 7 weeks, which I can not do.
I looked at Hammock gear quilts.
Are they comparable to EE quilts?
any recommendation other that hammock gear quilts?
thanks

I have a 0 degree with treated down, 2 oz overstuff, and it's only slightly heavier than my 3 season quilt with twice the loft. I like the material better than regular old ripstop. You can get the quilts in whatever length you require and with sewn in or snap up footbox… excellent quality and I had it within a week of the order.

My 3 season quilt is rated 20-25. It's seen a lot of nights out and still lofts fine, with 2-3 washings in the past 7-8 years. Jacks R Better – they also make summer quilts. Have not ordered from them in a long time but remember that they were very responsive.

I highly recommend Underground Quilts. Check out their Facebook page and their web address is: http://www.undergroundquilts.com/

The fabric is slightly heavier than Hammock Gear, but the baffles are narrower and in my opinion hold the down in place better. I UGQ quilt lofts better than my buddy's Hammock Gear quilt, but YMMV.

Hammock Gear makes an excellent quilt and the cost is hard to beat for the quality. Try looking at Mid Atlantic Mountain Works as well. Similar quality and pricing and excellent to work with.

I think you'll be happy with Hammock Gear, if you have any questions/concerns- give them a call. Their workmanship and materials are very good- I have a 0 degree winter quilt and a custom half bag they made, both very nice! :)

I just started sleeping under a Hammock Gear Burrow 40 regular/wide, ordered with 1oz over stuff and half taper. I can't compare it to an EE quilt because I don't own one. It's pretty crazy light and I like it very well so far. It seems a lot warmer than a USGI poncho liner but weighs less.

The deep purple fabric is an awesome color. I was using the quilt exactly 7 days after ordering it which was pretty incredible. I can only recommend Hammock Gear.

I have a standard 20 degree top quilt from Hammock Gear.I have been down in the mid teens with it. It is a great product and they have many options and competitive price points. Give Adam a call as they can expedite orders if there is a time constraint. I am sure he will win you over.
