I have a question about this section ( Vermillion Valley to Whitney Portal ) You wrote

did you mean 24lbs of food , I think 24 days of food would be a lot to carry and more than necessary or were you carrying both you and your wife's food ?

Link – I was carrying the food for both of us….too much but we thought it would take longer than it did.

AD – I am going to try the SHR this summer.

Stuart – pretty much, although a bit too busy for my tastes – there looks to be a lot more to go at over there….like about three lifetimes worth!
