I just looked at one of these at REI seattle, And I think I may have found my new winter/mountaineering tent. Weighs 5lbs 6oz in a heavy stuffsack with standard tent stakes, 3 pole design, 4 guyout points on the fly,
and it's long!
I'm 6'2", and 200lbs, and I could stretch out in it without my feet or head touching the ends, although if I'm with someone of similar size and build, it might be a little tight at the shoulder end.
Even better, 249$! There are lighter 4 season tents out there, but not anywhere near that price.
only bummer is that by the time I save the money up for it, they'll probably be out of stock, and since it seems to be a good design, it will probably be discontinued next year (much like the smartwool hoody, the patagonia R1 vest, the lil' nipper, you know, stuff we like.)
Anyone use this thing, own it? Maybe we can get some feedback from Shawn, our REI expert in residence?
