I've been scouring these forums and the internet for bags like the Kelty Cosmic Down 20 but they've been discontinued and are very hard to find. Are there any similar bags on the market right now that are comparable in weight and price? I plan on mostly California and Southwest backpacking if that helps. I also sleep in a down vest and long johns.

Hi Chin,

I would post a Want To Buy (WTB) ad on Gear Swap and see if you get any hits. I noticed your thread title says 150$ instead of 100$, which will make it easier to find what you're looking for.

Also, a while back, there was a Wal-Mart Ozark sleeping bag, or something to that effect, that fellow BPLers were using for shoulder season temps. Not sure of the exact temp rating, but seemed good to 30 or 40 degrees. I'm too lazy at the moment to find the thread, but a search should turn it up. Good luck.

Edited to note you already placed an ad via Gear Swap.

I see the Kelty Cosmic down bags in various temperature ranges on rei.com and very close to your price point. If you can wait a few weeks, REI's big sale of the year (Anniversary Sale) begins in mid-May, and there has often been a 20% off coupon for the Outlet site.

$50 over your price target but englightened equipment prodigy bag seems applicable. I'm personally thinkabout about grabbing an EE bag for myself.

Well I found this sleeping bag on Aliexpress:

http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Duck-down-600g-Filling-10C-10C-Ultra-light-down-outdoor-duck-down-outdoor-adult-breathable-thickening/32286265813.html

It's a knockoff 650 fill 600g (21 oz) down bag around 2.5lb from China. Now I don't know what the quality will be or how long it will last but it seems like a pretty good deal for $80 shipped. Anyone have any experience with these Chinese sleeping bags? What would the comfort range be given the amount of down filling?

Chin Lin, your PM is not set up. I have an REI men's Radiant 20F mummy sleeping bag, 650fp goose down. Roomy cut, weighs 41.7oz on my scale. Excellent condition. Was preparing to put it up on Gear Swap in your originally-posted price range, PM me in interested.
