Alpacka Packraft Attachment Adhesive- Anyone try Hysol?

I used the MEK and LA4123 repair cement for urathane from NRS with limited success. The two part may be better.
One problem is the indent where the ring is attached. You don't get good contact. After reglueing the last one, I used a dab of sealent in the middle. So far, so good. If I did it again, I would use the two part.

Hysol is a brand of epoxy (maybe urethane too.. I forget) adhesive. There's gonna be a number on that package that tells what type it is – your best bet is to call Hysol with that number and ask about how it'll work with the substrates you're trying to stick together.

As a rule, flexible adhesives work better with flexible materials and most epoxy and urethane adhesives aren't very flexible. I'd bet a silicone would be a better call but that's just my opinion. :-)

Yes Hysol is a urethane epoxy and the Alpacka Llama is made from a material with a urethane coating.

The bonding created by Hysol with cuben fibre is second to none. Hence my curiosity about how it would work for a raft. I have lots of it and reluctant to buy another type if this would work.

I may just go ahead and begin the laborious enterprise of trying to source Stabond 2part in Canada. It seems all DYI supplies have to be imported. The cost and timeframe is killer.

Reading the reviews, it suggests placing a ring of Aquaseal around the perimeter. That may have made a huge difference in my success. When they came loose, it started from the edge. I would look for the teo part. In a pinch, I would use the Cliftan again. Test before any serious use. If it comes off, no harm is done. You just reglue it.

I was expecting hear from someone who tried this. I assume most of those in the Alpacka world are also cuben DIYers. But perhaps not. I am reluctant to try the Hysol without some input.

I did manage to track down some Stabond 2 Part (generally regarding as the best adhesives for Alpacka rafts), but remain curious about Hysol.
