Looking for a little help here on what the diaameter of your current hiking pole is. I realize that they taper from the top to the bottom, so to keep things simple, let's say I am mostly interested in the area that is 6 inches below the handle.

You probably are wondering why…well I am working on a new product that will use this upper section to attach to and while I currently have "some" flexibility on size built into the design, it would be ideal to fit all the poles on the market.

I'm guessing that 3/8" to 5/8" will cover nearly everything but any chance a couple of you want to take some measurements?

    Gossamer Gear LT4's?
    Ruta Locura Poles?
    Flikloks?
    Komperdells?
    etc….

    Thanks!
    Steve from Suluk46

    Steve,
I measured the ones we have here:
    two heavier cheap pairs
    Masters Kompresser 0.717"
    Komperdell Mountian Trekker 0.711"
    and a lightweight pair
    Leki Makalu 0.630"

All measured 6" below the handle

Gossamer Gear LT4 is a smidgen less than 9/16"

Black Diamond Contour Flick Lock is a smidgen more than 11/16"

Measured 6 inches below the handle with cheap calipers.

Drew, Cliff, John, thank you VERY much. I appreciate you taking the time to measure the poles and provide your feedback. This is a big help.

    and Bob…thanks, I think ;)

I also measured my komperdells at 0.65" so it looks like most of them are closer in size than I had initially estimated…which is a good thing.

    Keep them coming if possible!

It appears that both my Leki Makalu and Black Diamond Traverse are 5/8 of an inch in diameter. (Note: this was done with a plastic caliper at 6 inches below the handle on both)

One more obscure pole just for fun is the SwissGear antishock which measures just over 11/16 inch.

    Drew/Cliff/John/Mark/Ivo/Jim,
I thank you for taking the time to give me the measurements. You have now become my product testers for this little gizmo.. that is, if you're interested :)

Send me an email for details: [email protected]
