I’ve posted to existing BPL threads before, but this is my first time starting one. Here goes: I have and very much like my MSR Zoid 1 tent, and I recently looked at the Fibraplex site to see if aftermarket carbon poles were available for this model. They are, and it made me wonder if there is a company that produces aftermarket silnylon rainfly’s to replace the tent manufacturers original coated nylon fly? I’d bet moving to a silnylon fly would drop far more weight than a switch to carbon poles, and such a fly replacement/UL upgrade might be of interest to anyone owning a double wall tent model popular enough to have decent numbers in-use.
Has anyone come across a company the specializes in aftermarket rainfly replacements using silnylon?
