I ordered a golite feather and was wondering if it came with a compression sack? My Slumberjack Saruago's did, and it just occured to me that it probably didn't. If it doesn't what compression sack would you suggest.

Suggestion on compression? That bag should come with a stuff sack and oversized sack for at home storage. I would not use a compression stuff sack with it, though I also don't know the packed size. I bet it is pretty compact for a 20 degree bag. What pack are you using?

I think you will probably find the bag it comes with good enough. Wait at least until you get the bag to find out.

A golite Jampak2. I usually hang my bags…is that not a good way to store them? My Slumberjack is a 600 down and it came with a compression sack that made it about the side of a cantalope or large softball. I figured I would get a similar size if I did the same with the Feather. should you not do that with down? honestly I am newer to down and may not know.

I think using the regular stuff sack it comes with will fit sideways in the jam2 pack, not sure though. Hanging the bag should be fine. Many seem to think nice down bags should not be compressed further than what the manufacturer's stuff sack allows. I tend to agree.

that would make some sense. I am just looking forward to the weightloss. it really shouldn't take up much room.

so is their a reason the slumberjack bags came with a compression sack? just a gimmick i guess.

Well, down handles compression much better than synthetic, but even so, the less compression the better. Why do we all hang bags up at home, after all?

cheers
