So, for whatever reason, a few weeks back I decided I wanted to ditch the tent for certain hikes and to go with a tarp/bivi combo instead. I picked up a Terra Nova Moonlite Bivi, unwrapped it, and was confronted with something rather perplexing: a warning to make sure users leave it partially open so they don't suffocate. Not surprising for a truly waterproof bivi, except for the fact that the portion that covers the user's face and upper chest is noseeum mesh that zips closed.

Anyway, this seems like a bizarre warning, given that one can easily breathe through the mesh. Anyone have any thoughts on this? I'm assuming they mean not to cinch the drawstring all the way down to close it off, rather than not to zip the mesh closed fully to keep the bugs out.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

Language added by their legal department, not the designer or any other person with a shred of common sense.
