I'm trying to decide which quilt to buy – Zpacks or Enlightened Equipment Egnima Elite. I like the vertical baffles on the Enigma quilt. It would prevent the down from shifting to the sides. I like the zipper on the zpacks bag because I'm a side sleeper and tend to move around a lot. Thoughts?

I think you mean vertical baffles on the EE. Sounds like you would want to Frankenstein something with features of both quilts, so keep in mind that both shops are willing to talk to you about customizing — though it probably would be easier for EE to add a zipper than for Zpacks to change the baffle design.
Yes, vertical baffles. My mistake. I have never used a quilt before and I'm not sure if either feature makes a big difference.
I'm a side-to-side sleeper and have been fine w/the EE. The pad straps keep things stable while you move around.
I'm also a side sleeper. I used the long/wide zpacks quilt without a zipper or straps. I find I can tuck the sides around me and make it quite draft resistant. It's also easy to vent and very simple.

Ditto on EE; the elastic strap system works very well.
All of my quilts are now EE. I had a zpacks through my house but the toe box was way too small.
Thanks for the feedback!
I have 2 EE quilts, an Enigma and a Revelation and love them both. I'm a 6'1", 215 lb side sleeper and use reg/wide in both. I find no need for the straps, the edges seem to naturally tuck under me.
Both companies have the reputation for the highest level of customer service and generous return policies…Can't go wrong with either. I have no experience with the zPacks bag but highly recommend EE.
Can't compare EE to anything else, but own two of Tim's quilts. We own one long and wide synthetic for snuggling and one down. No idea what they are as it's been a year since they were purchased but both are quality through and through. Love 'em. Will likely soon be purchasing a synthetic quilt for my 8 year old.
Another vote for the EE Quilt. I own one and it is of excellent quality. I think their pricing is more realistic as well. Some of the other quilt makers are charging more than what you would pay for a complete sleeping bag, even the higher end ones and that to me is disturbing.
I have never owned a zpacks quilt but I am sure they are awesome. I do own 2 EE quilts which I love and will never never get rid of. Like everyone else above said, sleeping on your side with a EE quilt works just fine. I am a side sleeper and my long wide revelation works great. I don't use the straps. It tucks in under my sides with room to spare inside. I also own a accomplish(2 person) quilt and it is equally awesome. You can't go wrong with either company.
Thanks Everyone! After agonizing and comparing similar models side by side, I decided to purchase the 10 degree long wide Zpacks quilt because it was a few ounces lighter and $40 less. I hope I don't regret it!
I have an EE synthetic custom sized for my daughter, its sensationally well made.
Also have a Zpacks double, also very good (bought before EE made doubles).
I don't think you can go wrong with either, especially in a single quilt, as long as the dimensions are right for you.
The Zpacks quilts are overstuffed by default, so differences in down control between horizontal or vertical baffles is not an issue.
EE have nice looking straps. Straps are a bit personal and worth playing around with different ones IMHO to find what works for you, your sleeping style, your Mat, etc. EE sell them seperately, cheap, they would attach I think to the loops on your Zpacks quilt.
Thanks Adam. I'll order some straps and see if I like that setup.
