Hi everybody
I'm more and more looking at a hooded windshirt to replace my non hooded one. The Patagonia Houdini seems to get consistently good reviews from owners, and the Golite Ether has somewhat mixed reviews, but I haven't seen a lot about the Montbell UL wind parka.
Could those of you with experience with one or more of these hooded windshirts compare their relative breathability, water repellency, and hood performance (i.e. does the hood stay on your head if a gust of wind blows into it?
I currently own a Montane Aero and am considering maybe buying some momentum90 fabric from Thru-hiker and sewing my own hood, but I'm not too sure about that, and if the Patagonia windshirt has better water repellency, then I wouldn't mind just selling the Aero and buying a Houdini since I've never sewn a hood before.
