I'm looking for a 3/4 pant that isn't all cotton that I can wear during fringe season. I usually hike in gaiters and shorts but I'm looking for a little more protection. I thought Mountain Hardwear used to make some, but I can't find them anywhere now. Any ideas?

So does Pearl Izumi (Boulder Knicker).
The PI is pretty light with some stretch. The chamois is removable.
Ibex used to make the Gnarly Knicker in merino wool.Oct 22, 2007 at 1:13 pm #1406300Any pair of pants can become 3/4 length with a pair of sissors. That's an easy MYOG.
Oct 22, 2007 at 2:13 pm #1406309I got a pair of REI Schoeller Dynamic pants on sale and made knickers out of them; worked great (and what a great material for shoulder season activities), and used excess material to make small cargo pockets. REI, Prana, Sickle, and Swobo all make great knickers as well.
