Hi Jaki,
Check out Rab from the UK. Their jackets are sold by a few outfitters here, but you may need to order from the UK depending on which model you are getting. I've never owned one of their jackets, but they along with Montane have some of the lightest eVent jackets. Consider how long you'd like your jacket to be, because some of the lightest eVent jackets are very short – not a problem if you always carry lightweight rain pants (Golite Reed – about 5 ounces).
Another jacket I'd highly recommend is the Montbell Peak jacket – it is made of eVent-like material that comes close to matching eVent for breathability. It has a terrific hood, super deep pit zips, pockets out of the way of pack straps, etc. and is very light (around 11 ounces). That is probably your best bet. It's also a lot cheaper than buying from Montane or Rab – it's $198 retail, but you could easily find it on sale if you look around.
My only complaint is that I'm 6 ft tall and wish it were even a little longer (the length is fine, but I like a longer rain jacket for full coverage of butt and groin, as I often hike without wearing my rain pants unless it's cooler and raining very hard). However, the jacket is not short – it's longer than the Quickfire and many other lightweight jackets.
Ask Benjamin Tang about it if your interested – he has it too.
Good luck!
