I am new to this. I really want to make my own gear. Where do you go to learn about diferent faberics and down. I just don't know were to start.

The best places to search for info is this forum and the forums at Thru-hiker.com. Ron Bell of MLD also has a good info page on fabrics on his website but he only talks about the fabrics he uses.

If you look in the Forums (HERE) under Make Your Own Gear – you will find 720 different threads dealing with about everything you might ever ask or want dealing with making your own gear.
Read them, and then if you don't find your answers – ask.
