Hi folks,

I've been in the market for a staycation tent for two, capable of managing british weather and which is also pack able – I'm looking at teepee shapes and I see that tentipi has just come up with a two person called the olivin. Anyone got experience of any other lightweight two person performance tents which can house someone six three – 75 inches which can be stood up in? My husband is allergic to camping so this is the gap in our shelters – but he has said he will come if I can find something warm dry comfortable easy to put up and take down and pack able.

Maybe you better define the term "staycation" for us non Euro-hipster types…;)

In the current sans Golite Marketplace, I recommend that you look at the Luxe Outdoor lineup. They have UK distribution and offer UL silnylon and heavy duty PU coated Hex Mids

Oware here in the states makes some nice large mids for the money in much the same materials.

The sticky thing is that currently, the pound to dollar exchange rate is against you with any US made goods..Add that along with shipping and the customs duty lottery, and it may not pay off.

Finding a mid that meets all of your requirements and is tall enough for a guy over 6 feet to stand up in is going to be really difficult. Guys our height are usually content being able to sit up fully. Standing up is really hard to find and be light and small.

I would personally suggest something like the MLD supermid which at 70 inches tall he won't be standing up in, but is very spacious and on the taller side. He will be able to sit on his knees and gather gear or change clothes.

If standing up is a requirement above all else you'll probably need a true teepee from kifaru, seek outside, titanium goat, ruta locura, etc. They are bigger and heavier than what most go for around here, but they are tall and big.

I have a Kifaru sawtooth. I can stand up and I am 6'2". It is heavy (4.5lbs)compared to what everyone here is using. You can also use a wood burning stove which is awesome for colder weather.

Lizz,
take a look at the Luxe Outdoor Octopeak with F4 inner, or the TiGoat Vertex 6.5 with or without inner (liner)

Dear all, thank you very much for help – and a staycation is where you basically don't go far afield from home and don't change sites…

Now I shall, humm and hah about postage and import duties – owwwwch!

Sounds like you need something for glamping.

There was an Sl3 for sale on Outdoorsmagic.com last week.
