It was getting dark fast and I ended up hiking about 5 miles in 1.5 hours so not a lot of pictures the first day.

Good way to take advantage of this weather. I didn't realize you could hike in/camp there. Cool stuff.

Also, looks like a nice solid pitch on your new Duomid; what support pole setup did you end up going with?

I'm using an easton pole, the .6 inch version. I tried the lighter easton poles but they flexed way too much.

How deep was the water at the crossing just before the campsite?

I ended up going to Big Sur instead, but our paths nearly crossed!

Yeah, it's a nice place. This was my first time ever hiking there. The stream crossing was nothing, I crossed it barefoot. Just below knee deep at one spot.
