Smartwool microlight

I have the bottoms and like them a lot. Sewing quality is excellent with flat seams making the garment very comfortable to wear. Durability has not been a problem for me. Garments this light are not going to stand up as well to abrasion as a heavier garment would. They weigh 5.8 oz in medium and I wear them under my runner's shorts to take the chill off my legs while backpacking in the fall in Colorado. This has worked well when I am on the move. As it gets colder, I simply layer my rain pants over them and am comfortable. I just got back from 7 days backpacking; wearing them every day and they had virtually no odor and still look like new.

I have the bottoms and I like them alot. They weight alittle less than 6 oz and are very warm. Depending on the conditions they are a great 4 season base layer for active use or worn to bed on colder summer through fall nights.

I have heard of alot of durability problems from the smartwool micro light line, like underwear disintegrating in two days durability.

I just bought a pair of bottoms a week ago. Loved it. Used it as camping sleepwear and for the cold morning start under my hiking shorts in the French Alps. Little/no odor after 5 days. Don't know about durability yet. Also love the smartwool socks (adrenaline mini crew) and gloves/liner.

Someone knows were can i find information about the weight of this baselayers?

Im looking for the lightest wool t zip avaliable

I was all stoked to get the Microweight Zip-T (on sale at ProLite Gear.com) but then read the reader reviews on the Smartwool microweights. I know a couple people having bad experiences doesn't mean the product is worthless, but it scared me enough that I've decided to go with Icebreaker Superfine 190.

Last year I purchased 2 Smartwool Micro long-sleeves from REI, along with the bottoms and sock liners. One of the shirts developed a hole in the back after one wearing on a trail. The other shirt has been used a bit more, but developed a hole in the sleeve during the first season. The sock liners I used as an outer sock in a pair of Montrail Tech Amphibians and they wore holes in them the first time I used them. As for the longs, I've had no problems other than the fly seems to me to be in a inconvenient location. I am now using Icebreaker and have been extremely satisfied with the Oasis L/S 200, the Tech Tee 190, the Microlite 140 Tee, and the legless pant. They seem to me to be of much better quality than Smartwool and I have used them 2 seasons with absolutely no problems at all. I won't go back to Smartwool!

Thank you all for your great input. I have been looking at the icebreaker as well and from what people are saying I will probably go with the icebreaker.
