Hello all, I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations regarding fast drying bras? I sweat like crazy when I hike; the dampness and the added smell-o-factor of my current bra isn't cutting it. I was looking at some wool bras (Ice Breaker, Ibex, etc) but am worried they might be too warm. I'm on the smaller side of the spectrum as far as support goes. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I like the Coobie bra:

It's pretty simple and comfortable, and manages moisture well. For me it's the right balance between supportive enough w/out being overbuilt or restrictive.

If you sweat a lot, I'd personally stay away from wool. It does not dry quickly at all. It might reduce odor, but it will stay wet if you sweat a lot. It's one of the reasons I stopped wearing wool briefs (even in winter) when I hike.

You might try something like: http://www.adidas.com/us/techfit-bra/D88787.html

The Ex Officio Give n Go Crossover bra dries pretty quickly. Not the most supportive option but if that is not high on the list it is a good choice.

Doug, You actually made a very good recommendation, you really know your bras ;) Adidas does make the Techfit with some mesh down the center also which I like. I am not very large and find this very comfortable and quick drying and the price isn’t bad.I find my polyester bras dry quicker than nylon or wool ones which I also own.

If I remember correctly, Doug also had good recommendations for women's panties as well.

I have nothing more to add.

My wife does a lot of smart wool and other merino wool garments including chami / shelf-bra tops for use around town and sometimes on the trail. But the wool does retain moisture much longer than nylon/lycra. For for summer hiking, Patagonia all-synthetic wicks better and wash&dries quicker. Medium amount of support.

For briefs, she uses Moving Comfort's 97% nylon, 3% lycra version A LOT. Around town, skiing at 0F, competitive rowing (during our short period of the lakes being liquid). And, (being the chief laundry worker), they've really lasted – many years (5? 7?) , of each pair being used at least weekly without noticeable wear.

"If I remember correctly, Doug also had good recommendations for women's panties as well."

Doug once confided to me that he moonlights for Victoria's Secret on commission, so it would be well to remember that as well.

Sorry, Doug, my obligation to the community trumps my vow of discretion. ;0))
